Learn about Earth and the unique position it occupies in our solar system. Explore topics such as Earth’s orbit, its axial tilt and how it creates the seasons, and how the Sun’s energy drives wind and weather. We then place Earth in the broader context of the solar system, showing how its location in space makes life possible.

Your Night Sky

Scaling the Solar System
Our “No Dome” program brings the solar system to life in your gymnasium or multipurpose room! Starting with a standard classroom globe, we build a scale model of the entire solar system right before your eyes. Giant inflatable gas planets and precisely 3D-printed rocky worlds and moons help students discover how astronomers use math to understand our solar neighborhood.
